To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)

Asia's largest fin whale skeleton on show at Pudong Airport
Released:2026-10-15

A long-term exhibition featuring Asia's largest fin whale skeleton specimen opened to the public on Oct 1 on the concourse mixed-flow level of Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

The 24-meter-long, 3-ton skeleton is assembled from more than 200 bones. It belonged to a fin whale that stranded and died in waters off Shanghai in March 2017. Shanghai Science and Technology Museum spent four years creating the specimen, a crown jewel of its collection. The show features graphic panels and interactive digital installations to deliver immersive science outreach on marine conservation, turning the terminal into a science venue without boundaries.

At the ceremony, Shanghai Airport (Group) Co., Ltd and the museum signed a strategic agreement to roll out more regularly refreshed themed exhibitions at terminals, making the airport the first stop for global visitors to experience Shanghai’s cultural tourism brand.

To enrich the National Day holiday travel experience, Pudong Airport also staged a series of live shows across its two terminals, including instrumental flash mobs, choral acts, and Chinese-Western instrument ensembles, drawing crowds of travelers.
