Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport has won the 2025-26 Shanghai Quality Gold Award, one of the city's highest honors for quality management.
The award, presented by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, recognizes management practices that are innovative and of exemplary quality.
Hongqiao Airport has been focusing on improving its overall operations, smart technology, green development and passenger services.
In 2025, its annual passenger throughput exceeded 50 million for the first time. More than 77 percent of its flights operate on express and semi-express routes, while key operational indicators, including on-time performance, rank among the best in China's aviation industry.
The airport has also expanded its smart airport program by introducing technologies such as RFID baggage tracking, OneID facial recognition for international and regional flights, intelligent security screening, and runway status lights to improve efficiency and passenger convenience.
On sustainability, Hongqiao Airport has established an integrated environmental, energy and carbon management system, becoming China's first airport to receive a four-star "dual carbon" rating and also the first to adopt the EATNS carbon management system.
To enhance the travel experience, the airport has launched a range of services for business travelers, international visitors, pet owners and families. It has been named CAPSE's Best Airport for 12 consecutive years, received multiple SKYTRAX Five-Star Airport ratings, and entered the world's top 10 cleanest airports for the first time.
