Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

During the summer travel season, Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) continues to expand its international route network, supporting airlines in launching new services and increasing flight frequencies to meet rising passenger demand.

On July 20, China Eastern Airlines inaugurated a new Shanghai Pudong–Dublin service, operating three flights per week with Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft and complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi across all cabin classes. On July 15, the airline also launched a thrice-weekly Shanghai Pudong–Tbilisi route, the first passenger service between China and Georgia operated by a wide-body aircraft, with free in-flight Wi-Fi available to all passengers.

Juneyao Air has also strengthened its European network by increasing flights from Shanghai Pudong to Athens to six per week and to Manchester to five per week. The airline has introduced an online visa verification service and e-boarding passes on selected international routes, further enhancing the travel experience.
