Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) upgraded its Pet Service Passage at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport on June 18, launching a dedicated pet waiting lounge in Terminal 2 for passengers traveling with pets.

The nearly 100-square-meter lounge is located on the departure level near the east side of Check-in Island E in Terminal 2. It features rest areas, dog activity zones, and cat lounges with dedicated facilities.
Designed to operate independently with zoned management, the lounge includes pet storage lockers, play facilities, grooming basins, seating, charging points, and a fresh air purification system. Together, these facilities help ensure a safe, comfortable, and hygienic environment for both pets and their owners.

Small dogs weighing five kilograms or less may be allowed out of their carriers in designated dog activity areas under supervision, while the lounge provides free disposable water bowls, cat litter, and basic pet supplies.
At Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, three dedicated pet security channels operate across Terminals 1 and 2, applying a "one pet, one disinfection" protocol with passengers completing airline procedures before escorted passage through security.
On launch day, themed pet activities were held with travelers receiving pet travel gift packs and limited-edition souvenirs including bowls, wipes, snacks, and pads, which proved popular with passengers.

During waiting and boarding for flights, pets must remain inside airline-approved pet carriers that meet the size requirements specified by individual airlines. This policy ensures safe and orderly travel in accordance with civil aviation regulations and airline guidance.
