Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport has introduced a new cross-airline, cross-terminal transfer service involving China Eastern Airlines (including Shanghai Airlines) and Sichuan Airlines, further improving transit connectivity between Australia, New Zealand and Chengdu via Shanghai, starting from June 1.
The service covers selected itineraries between Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Chengdu, and other destinations, allowing eligible passengers to transfer at Pudong under interline arrangements coordinated by participating airlines and airport services.
For applicable flights, passengers may complete check-in procedures at the departure airport and have their baggage tagged through to the final destination, subject to airline agreements and operational conditions, reducing the need for repeated handling during transfers in Shanghai.
Upon arrival at Pudong Airport, transfer passengers follow designated transfer routes and signage to connect to onward flights. Relevant inspection, customs and security procedures are completed in accordance with applicable regulations, supported by airport transfer facilitation services.
This initiative follows the earlier introduction of a cross-airline transfer product between China Eastern Airlines and Juneyao Airlines on April 30, marking further expansion of Pudong Airport's integrated transfer service network across carriers and terminals.

The airport said it will continue to work with airlines and relevant authorities to optimize transfer processes, improve operational efficiency and enhance passenger services, supporting Shanghai's development as a comprehensive international aviation hub.
