Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

The 2026 Spring Festival public benefit event launched at Pudong Airport's Terminal 2 on Jan 20. Co-hosted by the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, and Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX), the event marks the start of the city's annual cultural activities.
The event centers on giving away Chinese "Fu" characters that represent good fortune, happiness, and blessings, and writing Spring Festival couplets. It aims to enrich the cultural atmosphere at the airport and promote traditional Chinese culture in line with the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).
Key officials attending the ceremony included Xia Yujing, Party secretary of the Shanghai Federation of Art and Literary Circles, Zhou Hao, president of the Shanghai Airport Authority, and Ding Shenyang, president of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association.

Zhou emphasized AVINEX's role as a global aviation hub. Last year, the airport handled over 135 million passengers and 4.5 million metric tons of cargo, setting new records.
The event highlights the integration of Chinese calligraphy into the airport's services, offering travelers a unique cultural experience while promoting Chinese traditions abroad.

Calligraphers created handwritten "Fu" characters and Spring Festival couplets, which were gifted to travelers. Many passengers expressed appreciation for this personal touch, further enhancing the festive atmosphere ahead of the Spring Festival.
