Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

On Nov 19, Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) President Zhou Hao met with Lufthansa Group senior executives, including Michael Niggemann, a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, to discuss enhancing Shanghai's air-cargo supply chain and developing a world-class international cargo hub.

Zhou pointed out that Shanghai Pudong International Airport managed 4.206 million metric tons of air freight and mail last year, making it the second-largest globally. He commended the long-standing partnership with Lufthansa, which enhances Shanghai's position in the international logistics network. Zhou also advocated for increased cooperation to develop innovative models and bolster China's high-level opening-up.
Niggemann highlighted Lufthansa's long-term investment in Shanghai and noted that the terminal's cargo throughput this year has already surpassed last year's total. He expressed interest in expanding both passenger and cargo services while offering smarter, greener, and more efficient air logistics solutions to strengthen Shanghai's role as a global cargo hub.

On Nov 26, Zhou met with Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA Milan Airports, and Luigi Battuello, CCO of SEA Milan Airports, to discuss deeper cooperation in supporting the development of Shanghai’s international aviation hub. Zhou said that nonstop flights between Shanghai and Milan now operate up to 28 times a week and encouraged collaboration in route planning, digital transformation, and tourism integration.
Brunini praised Shanghai's connectivity and airport innovation. He committed to increasing resources for joint aviation efforts, aiming to set a new standard for China-Europe airport cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between Shanghai and Milan.
