Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)
Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

On Nov 18, China Southern Airlines' CZ2582 cargo flight, carrying 81 metric tons of fresh cherries from Santiago, Chile, landed at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport. This new route links Shanghai with South America. After customs clearance, the cherries are delivered directly to markets and supermarkets.
Chile has been China's top source of cherries for over 10 years. As the first South American nation to sign a free trade agreement with China, Chile plays a key role in this trade.
The new cargo route, operated by a Boeing B777F, flies directly from Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport to Pudong Airport. After a brief stop in Los Angeles, the flight takes less than 25 hours, the longest direct cargo route to China.

To ensure efficient handling, Shanghai Airport Authority, customs, and China Southern Airlines coordinated closely. They pre-planned parking and transportation routes, establishing a zero-waiting green channel for cargo. Customs uses an advanced declaration and immediate inspection system, ensuring quick clearance. The process, from unloading to departure, takes less than 90 minutes.
This new air route supports Shanghai's goal to become a comprehensive international logistics hub. It boosts trade between Shanghai and Santiago and helps expand cooperation in high-value sectors, contributing to China's broader efforts for high-level opening-up.
