Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)
Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport have started their 2025-26 winter-spring schedule, which runs from Oct 26 to March 28, 2026. The schedule averages 2,419 flights daily, reflecting a five percent increase compared to last year.
The schedule allocates 1,643 daily flights to Pudong Airport and 776 to Hongqiao Airport, including 766 international flights, services to Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and 1,653 domestic flights. These flights link 279 passenger and cargo destinations in 48 countries and regions.
International connectivity is expanding, with the return of the Shanghai — Delhi route on Nov 9 and China Eastern Airlines' new ultra-long-haul service from Pudong to Auckland and Buenos Aires, starting Dec 4.
The new southern corridor reduces travel time to about 25 hours, offers visa-free transit for eligible travelers, and enhances Shanghai's position in the national "Air Silk Road" initiative, strengthening its competitiveness as a global aviation hub.

Domestically, flight frequencies to around 30 cities — such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen in Guangdong province, Chengdu in Sichuan province, and Xi'an, Shaanxi province — are being increased. The "Shanghai Connect: Effortless & Efficient" program, along with 196 multilingual volunteers, further improves travel convenience and service quality.
A new Suzhou Service Center opened on Oct 25 at Pudong Airport's Terminals 1 and 2, providing return services to the Suzhou City Terminal and improving connectivity and integration throughout the Yangtze River Delta region.
