Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights

To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

Senior executives from the Shanghai Airport Authority, China Eastern Air Logistics, and Swissport gathered in Shanghai on Oct 21 to discuss and develop a strategic partnership focused on smart cargo operations, with the goal of improving the efficiency of global air logistics.

Feng Xin, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shanghai Airport Authority, stated that the AVINEX smart cargo terminal project, in partnership with Swissport, exemplifies a powerful alliance fostering strategic synergy and resource sharing. This partnership aims to build advanced infrastructure to deliver reliable, future -ready air cargo services for international clients.

Feng stressed cultural integration and practical implementation, urging teams to merge advanced operational concepts with local practices. The aim is to create a Shanghai-style smart logistics model that fosters collaboration and attracts global air cargo resources.

Swissport Global CEO Warwick Brady said the company serves more than 850 clients across 279 airports. The company plans to utilize its global operations and technology expertise to enhance the smart cargo terminal, ensuring smooth cargo flows and setting a new standard for intelligent logistics.

The Pudong Airport smart cargo terminal, anticipated to open by the end of the year, is managed by Smargo, a joint venture between AVINEX Logistics and China Eastern Airlines Logistics Co. It integrates advanced logistics technology to enhance Shanghai's growth as an international aviation hub.
