Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)
Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
The Shanghai Pudong International Airport and eight nearby hotels in Shanghai formed an alliance on July 16 to elevate the travel experience for passengers at one of the world's busiest airports.
Initiated by the Shanghai Airport Authority or AVINEX, the launch ceremony for the Shanghai PVG Quality Hotels Alliance was held at Terminal 2 of Pudong Airport.

In response to the influx of international, transit and family travelers during the busy summer travel period, the alliance rolled out a comprehensive suite of seven service products — integrating closely with the airport's operations to provide superior accommodation and travel experiences.
It marked a significant step in Shanghai's efforts to establish itself as the premier gateway for inbound tourism in China.
The alliance includes the Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport, the Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Airport, the Da Zhong Airport Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Pudong Airport, Shanghai Airlines Travel Hotel, Jinjiang Inn Select, the Ramada Pudong Airport Shanghai and the soon-to-open Aerotel Airport Transit Hotel Shanghai Pudong.
Together, they will create a diverse and complementary service network designed to extend and enhance the airport's travel service offerings.
Key offerings include:
1. Integrated Travel Inquiry Services: Each member hotel will feature a Traveller Info Hub, providing travelers with comprehensive guidance on transportation, tourism, electronic payments and flight procedures.

2. Nighttime and Transit Rest Services: The worry-free transit service offers affordable short-stay options for late-night and transit passengers, with some hotels providing packed breakfasts and all-day shuttle services to the terminals.
3. Airport Hotel Plus Services: In collaboration with airport VIP services and the China International Travel Service, guests booking at designated hotels can enjoy discounts on VIP lounge access and expedited security clearance.
4. Family-Friendly Summer Offerings: Catering to the increase in family travel, hotels are offering themed family rooms, play areas and flight simulator experiences under the "Joyful Summer" initiative.

5. Culinary Promotions: As part of the 2025 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season, hotels will host events like international food festivals, global beer festivals and coffee tasting seasons to enhance the dining experience.
6. Ticket Perks: Travelers presenting recent tickets to local events or attractions can enjoy exclusive welcome gifts and additional booking discounts.
7. Crew Services: Tailored services for airline crews include dedicated check-in counters, preferred floors and expedited check-in and check-out processes.
The initiative follows the establishment of the Hongqiao Airport Quality Hotels Alliance in February, reflecting AVINEX's ongoing commitment to developing an "Aviation+" ecosystem.
By fostering regional collaboration and resource sharing, these alliances aim to introduce innovative travel solutions that are in line with passenger needs — further propelling Shanghai's status as a leading international aviation hub.
