The airports served a total of 1.937 million inbound and outbound passengers, averaging 387,000 passengers daily – a substantial 14.1-percent annual growth.

Inbound and outbound passenger traffic specifically reached 568,000, with a daily average of 114,000 passengers – a remarkable 24-percent rise. These figures both represent new records for flight volume and passenger traffic during this period in the history of both airports.

As China's transit visa-free policy becomes more flexible, Shanghai has witnessed a steady increase in inbound tourism. To enhance the experience for international visitors, the airports have bolstered their services. Pudong Airport, for instance, upgraded its multilingual Wi-Fi services to support eight languages, offering inbound travelers guidance in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, and Korean on airport transportation and travel services.

Additionally, the two airports now feature three one-stop service centers for foreign visitors, offering "Shanghai Pass" one-day passes, encompassing culture, commerce, tourism, and transportation, and facilitating seamless experiences in dining, travel, and shopping throughout the city.

On May 5, in a bid to enhance the return journey experience for arriving passengers, the airports worked closely with major taxi companies to ensure prompt vehicle deployment and meet transportation demands.
