Effective from 00:00 on May 8, 2025, counters F01-F18 located at Check-in Island F in Terminal 2 will undergo renovation and be temporarily closed for service.

During this period:

• First and business class passengers, along with Platinum, Gold, and Silver Card members of China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, are advised to proceed to Check-in Island C.

• Passengers traveling to Chongqing, Xi'an, or Kunming with China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines should use counters A01-A07.

• Passengers of Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Lucky Air, and Tibet Airlines should use counters E14-E18.

Please be aware that the specific counter assignments are subject to possible on-site adjustments by the respective airlines. The reopening schedule will be communicated separately. Thank you for your cooperation!

Shanghai Airport to inaugurate direct flights to Central Asia

On May 29, the first direct passenger route from Shanghai to Central Asian countries (Shanghai Pudong - Shymkent, Kazakhstan) is set to open, marking a new navigation point of Shanghai Airport on Belt and Road air routes.

This new airway will enhance the navigation network of Shanghai International Aviation Hub and facilitate the commercial, cultural, and tourism exchanges between China and Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan's Scat Airlines, which operates the route, will also be a new carrier at Shanghai Airport this year, following Air Serbia and Maldives Airlines.

The route is operated by a Boeing B737, which is scheduled to operate twice a week. Currently, Scat Air is open for ticket sales.

Shanghai Pudong - Shymkent, Kazakhstan: 02:00 Tuesday Beijing time-06:00 Tuesday local time; 05:50 Friday Beijing time- 10:00 Friday local time.

Shymkent, Kazakhstan - Shanghai Pudong: 15:30 Monday local time-01:00 Tuesday Beijing time; 19:50 Thursday local time-04:50 Friday Beijing time.

Since last year, Shanghai Airport has been actively restoring airlines services and expanding international routes, particularly to medium and long-haul destinations in Belt and Road partner countries. Its hub network now covers 291 destinations across 48 countries globally, offering more passengers more travel options.
