Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights

To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport was on March 1 awarded the title of Best Airport by Size & Region in Asia-Pacific in 2020 by the Airports Council International (ACI).

The airport was named in the category of airports with an annual passenger throughput of over 40 million. Other airports named in the category include Beijing Capital International Airport in China, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, India, and Singapore Changi Airport.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport was also ranked first among 348 airports in terms of passenger satisfaction, according to Airport Service Quality (ASQ), which takes into account 34 key indicators, including airport traffic, check-in handling, safety inspection and service facilities.

The airport has been ranked among the top 10 airports in the world in terms of ACI passenger satisfaction score for 11 consecutive years since 2010.
